Finding Out About the Christian Faith

We believe that the heart of the Christian faith is a message of Good News about Jesus Christ. Therefore we want to do all that we can to help people find out more about the Christian faith, ask questions and discuss issues/objections and to present as clearly as we can who Jesus is and what it means to follow him. To that end there are a whole variety of events, courses and services that are regularly put on to help people discover for themselves who Jesus is and what he has done for us.

Sunday Services

Firstly, we extend a warm welcome to you to our Sunday services.
Every Sunday, our main service is at 10.00am and our evening service at 6.30pm. Most weeks we are thrilled to have new people or visitors attending our services and so we make every effort to ensure that our services are welcoming and accessible to all.
Coming Sunday by Sunday, hearing the Bible being taught and meeting other Christians is a great way to discover more about Christianity.
Our experience is that most people take a while before they are in a position to make a decision about the Christian faith because they need time to learn, discover what its’ really about and think through the implications of it all.

Each Term We Run A Different Course, especially designed for people who are wanting to find out more
Autumn: I'm Glad You Asked That

An informal, discussion-based series of evenings held in a local pub. Over a (free!) pint or glass of win, there is an opportunity to ask and discuss important questions such as “Why is there suffering in the world?”, “How can you trust the Bible?” “Hasn’t science disproved Christianity?”

Spring: Encounters With Jesus Now and Then

This course normally runs for 6 weeks, in the parish hall next to the church. Each week we begin by hearing from someone who has come to faith in Christ themselves as they tell the story of how encountering Jesus has changed their lives. Together we then look at a passage from the Bible in which we read of Jesus encountering people then. These evenings are informal, relaxed and discussion based allowing plenty of opportunity for questions and debate.

Summer: Christianity Explored

This is a 7 week course that we run every May/June in the parish hall. The evening begins with a meal before looking together at one key aspect of the Christian faith each week. Again there is plenty of time given to discussion in small groups. This course serves as an excellent introduction to the Christian faith.

We also regularly have:
First Sunday Specials

On the First Sunday in the month in our 10.00 am morning service we have a special service where we try to address a topic, issue, question or objection that someone may have about the Christian faith. These services only last an hour and there is within them a question and answer time to give people the opportunity to come back at the speaker about what has been said. Previous topics addressed have been things such as ‘Suffering’, ‘the existence of God’, ‘the reliability of the Bible’, ‘I’m spiritual but not religious’, Is Jesus really God’, ‘Jesus and political correctness’.

A Meal and a Speaker

Every few months, we put on an excellent meal with an after dinner speaker addressing a specific topic, again with opportunity for questions afterwards. Topic have included, “Da Vinci Code – Fact, Faith or Fiction”, ‘Can we trust the Bible?’ “Marriage – its for life not just your wedding day!”
